On Saturday, Tindra won Best of Breed, judged by CKC judge L. Harfield (Ontario). She is now at 4 CKC points. Today she was 2nd place in a class of 2 open females. I think that completes her ribbon set from 1st to 4th (but the 4th place ribbon is from the 1st US speciality so it's still a nice souvenir!) Leticia's female Eydis won Breed today for her first major, so it's nice to see she has a good start towards a Ch title.
Tindra's coat is growing back after a big coat blow in August to early September. She has a moderate ruff (less than Soley has) but she has an interesting feature I call the "bearded lady" look, it's a frill of fur under her chin. In this picture, she's not wearing a collar, that's just how her coat naturally lies. Interesting to see if her ruff is still filling in or if the frill will remain.

Trillium Show Update
Of course, Soley

turned 4 years old this month! Her birthday was October 26th and we didn't celebrate specially but - every day is a party for Soley. She is an amazing dog to have for our first purebred dog. We hoped for a show/breeding prospect and she has helped us fulfill those dreams. Soley has the soundness of temperament and body that allow us to play in a few different venues with her, she finished her CKC championship handled by Scott, and has passed all health screening tests with wonderful results. Beyond her achievements, her personality and temperament make her a cherished companion and family member. As other ISD owners will know, these dogs form incredible bonds with people and having experienced that, it's hard to imagine being without Soley in our life. Much gratitude to Soley's breeder, Sharon, for all her thoughts, care and effort in breeding and raising puppies, all the experience and the skill that combined to bring us Soley.
Soley is a wonderful ambassador for the breed in all the public events she's participated in and it must be hundreds of people by now who have enjoyed giving her belly rubs when she "works" at the store with me. No less important than being our show/performance girl, she has produced 9 lovely and affectionate offspring and was a wonderful mother in raising them. She has a gift for knowing just which puppies to have for the people waiting for them ;) I look forward to seeing the generations to come. Although Soley will be a grandmother sometime in the next few months, she is eternally playful and still frequently mistaken to be a puppy.
Here's to another fantastic decade and beyond with Soley!

Two Beautiful Girls

I so appreciate getting the puppy updates and pictures. Sigga still has a strong resemblance to her "twin" Viggo. She and Max are great playmates. It looks like Skonsa has skipped the goofy puppy stage, unlike the other pups her head and body are growing at the same rate. Trek just had a play date with Viggo and I will forward some pictures once they are received.
Height/Weights for those who are interested
Trek - 17 pounds 9 ounces - estimated 15.5 inches (just slightly shorter than Soley)
Viggo - 21 pounds -very solid boy - slightly shorter than Trek
Sigga - I forgot to ask when I talked with Maureen so I just sent off an email
Skonsa - 14.5 inches
